My Story

My name is Alannah Sims and I am a Certified Lactation Counselor. I am a military spouse married to my high school sweetheart, and together we have two beautiful little girls!

I began my personal breastfeeding journey in 2021 when my first daughter was born. I was showered with immense support in those first few weeks of postpartum, but once family made their way back home, I quickly learned how isolating and lonely the transition into motherhood could be without your village around you.

I soon began to develop close friendships with other mothers in my community and we bonded over our mutual feeling of uncertainty and exhaustion. We texted and called each other at all hours of the night, most often starting with "You awake too?"

It was through this experience that I not only developed a passion for breastfeeding, but a passion for creating a community, and to be there to support mothers just like myself. Motherhood is a steep learning curve and no one should ever feel alone in that transition. That's why I created Happy Latch Lactation Support. Whether this is your first time breastfeeding, or you are a seasoned professional, every baby, every mother, and every experience is completely unique and deserves to be treated as so. I am dedicated to understanding where you're at in your own journey and supporting you along the way.
